TVN is one of the most well-known Polish commercial TV stations and a part of the international WarnerBros Discovery Group. In 2011, they launched a new VOD (video on demand) platform – Player.pl. In the beginning, it was based on the AVOD model (advertising video on demand). However, TVN wanted to scale the business up and decided to change the service model for SVOD (subscription video on demand). Thus, the challenge was to design and develop an entire new e-commerce system that would allow users to access all available series and movies within paid subscriptions. Another case was about scalability – TVN wanted to be prepared for unexpected viewer increases at any time.
